big girl!

wow. I can't believe it's been over a week since I posted! I have been writing loads of entries in my head, but it has been until now taht I actually can get to sit down and write. And, actually, am supposed to be doing some work, but since I sent myself the wrong document to work on, I guess I'll just have to do it tomorrow.

well, as you can see from the pictures, little lady is growing fast. In just a week's time, she's completely sitting up on her own. She sits in the tub seat now- LOVES it. Wants to do nothing but eat her ducks and cups in the water. She'd sit there for hours if I let her. And, we're using the highchair on a regular basis now. Some days she still fusses when I put her in it, but she's getting used to it. She passed out cold in it this weekend! We still have her in the infant car seat, but next weekend we'll be getting the big girl seat. So we've been practicing bringing her into stores and having her sit in the buggy! She doesn't seem to notice a difference between that and staying in her carrier. Fine with me!

So, let me tell you about all the days that've passed since my last posting!

Last Sunday/Monday/Tuesday = very very grumpy Eileen. She is rarely fussy, so I just didn't know what to think. She wasn't eating much. I do think she is slowly cutting one of her top teeth, but I don't think that is why she was fussy.

Wednesday = When I walked into her classroom, I noticed she was in a different outfit than what she'd had on in the morning. That is just never a good sign! She'd had some tummy issues. But her mood seemed better, so that was good. We went home and she had a tubby! Daddy got home a little late- he'd been working - and he didn't feel good. Next thing I know - he's got a 101 degree fever! WHAT? Adults don't get fevers like that unless something is way wrong. So of course I battled with "oh, poor Josh! I want to take care of him" and "sh*t! get the heck away from me and Eileen! I don't want us to get sick!" So he soon went to bed, as did she. I chatted on the phone with my friend ChiChi (ok, not her real name. but we've called her that since we were in Spanish One waaaay back in High School!).

Wednesday night/Thursday morning= to be specific, it was 3am. Eileen had woken, I went to check on her. I picked her up - dark nursery and all - and hmmm.. why is she all wet? turned on the lights, and EWWWW. Not a pretty sight (or smell). Poor little girl! but- she was in a REALLY good mood! Clearly she'd been fussy b.c of an upset stomach, and from the looks of her and her crib, she'd expelled any nastiness from her system. Josh was downstairs passed out so I was left to my own devices. Cleaned up her and changed the sheets, then fed her, and then started a load of laundry. Yep, at 3:45am. There was no way I wanted THOSE sheets to sit til the morning!
Thursday morning = more fun mess from Eileen, tho not nearly so bad. Still, at this point I've got some dehydration worries. The nurses at the pediatrician's office must think I am crazy, I swear I think I call them once a week. Anyway.. since there was no fever and her mood was good, they told me just to get some Pedialyte. That seemed to get her back on track, and she's finally back to her old self.

Fast Forward to this past Saturday. Josh was still feeling rather off, but better than earlier in the week. Then out of nowhere, he got the same stomach issues Eileen had had. He was supposed to do the half-marathon on Sunday, but that idea went out the window. Again, I wanted to make him feel better, but also wanted Eileen and me as far away from him as possible. So she and I went shopping! nothing exciting. We got baby wipes and formula and ginger ale and saltines (for Josh). but we still had fun. Oh, and we went through the car wash, which scared her a little bit, and then she liked it. Cute.

So now it's Tuesday. We all seem to be healthy. Knock on wood, I don't get the nasty bug. It's been gorgeous here- you can tell from some of the outside pics. Of course, tomorrow through Easter is supposed to be frigid. How completely annoying. But I am dressing Eileen in her little Easter (lightweight) dress anyway! I'll bring along a sweater. :)

Today I got bangs. Due to the hair growing back (yay!) I have these bizarre little spikes sticking out of my forehead. Anyone remember Katie Holmes wedding picture? with the odd little fringe pasted to her forehead? yep. That's me. (now, she's got more money than god. why didn't that girl either get some bangs or get some extensions before having her wedding picture plastered all over the WORLD?) anyway - in order to hide the spikes, I got bangs. it's a big event in my world.

Ok.. clearly I have rambled on. Sorry for being MIA. I swear I'll try to be better!
