Hop to it!

Look at Eileen with this food! She's just hilarious. She was bound and determined to get this bowl from me while she was eating last week. Finally I gave in (it was right before bath time anyway) and let her go to town. She was eating chicken/rice/sweet potatoes (lovely combination!) and had a grand time eating it and playing with it.

I can't believe Easter has come and gone!

It was insanely cold here.. but we wore our spring outfits anyway.
And glad we did bc the church was insanely hot.

That would be b.c of all the people that came out of the woodwork to show up at Mass. We had double services (one in the church and one in the family life center - simultaneously) at 10 am AND at 11:45am. We went to the 10am and it was PACKED. Standing room only at both places. I really have no idea where all those people come from.

We got a seat - thank Heaven. There was no way I would have been able to hold Eileen through the whole service. She's just too heavy! Anyway.. she made friends with the nice man sitting next to us. He was fascinated by her. She's such a nut. She did manage to throw her froggie under the pew in front of us which made her mad. But I promptly handed her the hymnal, which she loves. But now that she can actually grab at things with both hands I can't really let her get to close to anything 'nice' or she will tear it to shreds.

She attemped to eat my napkin at lunch on Friday. Of course when I took it away she got mad. My friend Karrie was proud of me for not giving in and giving it back. I was proud of me too! I figure if I don't let her get her way even now, perhaps that will stick through all of childhood.

Let's see.. where did we leave off?
Friday I was off work since Eileen's school was closed for Good Friday. We actually had a shoot going on at our house, so there was crew and gear everywhere. Lots of props in the front yard. The neighbor's maid evidently thought it was a yard sale, and just walked over and started digging through bags in my front yard. Do you think that's weird? I mean, yes - there were people and cars everywhere. But there were also huge lights and people walking around with headsets on. Would you think that was a yardsale? One of the crew guys had to (politely) run her off. And it took some effort- she really didn't believe it was a shoot. She was convinced we were having a yard sale. W E I R D.

Anyway.. Eileen was fascinated by the crew and activity. She especially loved Stanley.. with his long hair and gravelly voice I think she thought he was just a character.
Friday night Josh and I went and got some 'adult' chairs for our kitchen and dining room! yay! As Josh said, we now have an 'adult house.' For years we'd had a mish mosh of chairs, most of which in rough shape. It's a miracle they haven't collapsed before now. There was a sale on the chairs we've been eyeing.. and we're getting a refund from Uncle Sam.. so sale + refund = new chairs. They look GREAT. Look like they were made to go with our tables (awesome huge antique tables from Josh's grandparents!). I'll have to take a picture.

Eileen was a trouper.. after all the errand running and several trips back and forth to the store to get the chairs home.. she'd been in her car seat for almost 4 hours. She held out almost the whole way- about 10 minutes before we were done she started to have a melt down.. she's just so good. We got home quick and got her out of her seat and she was so happy to get a big fat hug (and clean diaper and a bottle)!

Saturday we ran errands. We bought Eileen her new big girl car seat, but Daddy can't quite get it in the car by himself. Needs another man. Grandpa John will be here in a couple of weeks - hopefully the two of them can get it in.

Of course Sunday was Easter. We did church and had a good meal. Not really an Easter basket yet.. but she looked adorable in her little dress and Easter hat.

Happy Monday!
